Paint correction is the controlled removal of a microscopic amount of clear coat to level the defects that scatter light.
Swirl marks, holograms and wash marring make dark paint look grey and flat. Correction levels those defects rather than filling them, which is why the result survives future washes. Clear coat is finite, so REFIND measures before polishing and works to the least aggressive combination that achieves the finish.

No. If a scratch catches a fingernail it usually reaches beyond the safe polishing range. We improve what can be improved safely and tell you what cannot.
When paint depth is measured and the process is controlled, yes. The risk comes from aggressive polishing without measurement.
The correction is permanent until new defects are introduced. Wash technique and protection determine how long the finish stays that way.
